Taste the diversity of Rioja

Bodegas Beronia is a relative newcomer to the Rioja scene. The winery was founded in the 1970’s by a group of businessmen who thought the idea of their own wine rather attractive. They chose a perfect site on the slopes of the Mendiguerra mountains which was perfect for creating a style of Rioja that winemaker Matias Calleja…See More

4th of July Wine - What's the Ideal Wine to Celebrate Independence Day?

While beer is often the refreshing beverage of choice on the 4th of July, wine is increasingly more popular as a relaxing summertime refreshment. With wine's increase in popularity comes the challenge of finding a wine to serve that not only beats the heat, but pairs well with typical picnic fare. "For most folks, the 4th of July signifies celebration and a wide variety of outdoor picnic style foods. Grilled meats, a variety of salads, like potato or coleslaw, and grilled corn on the cob…See More

"How to Hold a Wine Glass There is a Right Way to Hold a Wine Glass It may seem a bit unnecessary to discuss how to hold a wine glass; but, there is a right way and a wrong way and it does make a difference. Wine is served in stemware because…"

The Johnnie Walker Blue Label Blend has Scotch aged a minimum of 25 years

SOME BACKGROUND ON JOHNNIE WALKERJohnnie Walker is located less than 30 miles Southwest of Glasgow. The name is sometimes misleading to some that think Jim, Jack, and Johnnie are all bourbon cousins.Johnnie Walker’s home is at Kilmarnock, Scotland where John Walker opened a grocery store in 1820. The Dewars family got a very similar start … I should look into pushing produce.SOME BACKGROUND ON THE BLUE LABELLike most Johnnie Walkers (…See More

Profile Information

About Me:
Well, if you're drinking simple wine, then have at it. But, If you're drinking something special or just want to talk about the wine you're about to drink, then ask a few questions. When you ask the right questions, you might start to understand why wine is so magical. Nobody knows everything about wine and the people that do, well, they bore us all!
Why does the wine taste the way it does? Which foods pair well? Will this wine be a collectable?

Q: What is the perfect wine for a Cheeseburger or Pizza?
A:
California "Old Vine" Zinfandel is perfect for comfort foods such as these. Big zesty, jammy fruit that works well with a tomato slice or tomato sauce. Its acidity, fruit and spice take that greasy burger or pepperoni slice and make them much more refined. You'll take your next burger out of the fast food category, and put it into fine dinning right away.
Another fun selection would be Cote du Rhone from France, or Grenache Syrah from California or Australia.
Type of wines you like:
Red, White, Champagne, Port

Caring for your wine glasses

Posted on February 28, 2012 at 3:34pm 0 Comments

This quote accurately sums up the importance of a quality wine glass when enjoying wine: “If you want to enjoy wine, you can do so out of a clean water glass. If you want to appreciate wine, then you want to use a glass with a stem long enough to fit three adult fingers, and a bowl that comes in on itself”

Caring for your wine glasses forms an integral part of appreciating wine and this starts with the way your glasses are stored. Most of us make the mistake of storing our…
